England's women will cast off their culottes and skirts and play in trousers for the first time in their 70-year history when their one-day international series against South Africa starts at Bristol today.
The England players have decided to stop wearing the traditional garments to avoid grass burns and cuts, and Australia and New Zealand will follow suit for the World Cup in India.
Today's game is the first of five one-day matches between the two sides.
