Cricket: Hollioake's ambition

England A attempt to complete a clean sweep of their first-class games when they take on Queensland at the Gabba in the final match of their Australian tour tomorrow, writes Myles Hodgson from Brisbane.

After victories against South Australia and Victoria, the tour is completed with the final first-class fixture against a state side, who have included the Australia wicketkeeper Ian Healy and all-rounder Stuart Law in their squad. Both have been involved in Australia's Test recent one-day internationals against West Indies in their squad.

England got into the match on the back of an eight-match unbeaten run since losing the opening game of the tour against a New South Wales XI.

Adam Hollioake, the captain, said: "We may not have had the Ashes to play for on this tour, but from the very beginning we regarded the three first-class matches as our Tests.

"We desperately want to win all three matches and we will be equally determined to beat Queensland as we were against South Australia and Victoria."

The Derbyshire fast bowler Andrew Harris, who missed the two one-day matches against New South Wales over the weekend with a foot injury, is expected to come through a fitness test today with the squad set for a rigorous net session at the Gabba.
