AAMIR SOHAIL and Inzamam-ul- Haq shared a one-day world record partnership of 263 yesterday as Pakistan beat New Zealand by 62 runs to reach tomorrow's Australasia Cup final against India.
Sohail made 134 and Inzamam an undefeated 137 in Pakistan's total of 328 for 2 off their 50 overs. Inzamam and Sohail savaged the New Zealand attack, bringing up the 100 in 15.1 overs, 200 in 34.2 overs and 300 in 46.4 overs. They then restricted New Zealand, for whom Adam Parore and Shane Thompson shared a 133-run stand, to 266 for 7.
Pakistan's second-wicket stand beat the previous record of 224 between the Australians, Dean Jones and Allan Border, against Sri Lanka in Adelaide in 1984-85.
