MARK TAYLOR has hinted strongly that he may retire as Australia's Test captain before the series against Pakistan in September.
Even if he does stand down, however, Taylor did not rule out the possibility of playing on as an opening batsman under a new captain. Speaking in the aftermath of Australia's 2-1 defeat to India in a three-Test series, Taylor said he would make a decision about his future over the next few months. "When you captain a side for four years you want to go on for ever, but it is something I will have to think about," Taylor said.
