ENGLAND and South African fast bowlers face an added incentive in the first Test at Edgbaston today when a new radar device will measure the speed of their deliveries.

The Yellow Pages Speedster can measure every thousandth of a second of the ball's flight and has been developed from technology which measures the trajectory and speed of a bullet.

Current and past England fast bowlers, Darren Gough and David Lawrence, tested the machine yesterday, with screens at the side of the scoreboard displaying the speed of the ball.
