WASIM AKRAM helped inflict an innings' defeat on Somerset at Southport yesterday with his best bowling performance for Lancashire.

The Pakistan fast bowler returned 8 for 30 in 16.4 overs to help Lancashire to their first win of the season by an innings and 88 runs.
