CRICKET WORLD CUP: MEDIA MONITOR
Bangladesh team receives bomb threat!
Security has been tightened after Bangladesh cricket team received two bomb threats. Police are very alert. Bangladesh will have strong support for their match against Scotland in Edinburgh . Plain-clothes police will be on duty to foil any move to break discipline.
About 1,500 fans and supporters of Bangladesh cricket team will go to Edinburgh to watch the match. Some Bangladeshi restaurants here will be closed to witness the match, but some restaurants have offered discount lunches to the customers, who will be watching the game on TV.
The supporters and fans have already been gathering in Edinburgh since last week. Almost all the hotels in Edinburgh are full.
Many cricket critics think that the time has come for Bangladesh to have full ICC membership - Test status. The Bangladeshi Under-19 team have already shown their potentiality (sic) during the World Youth Cricket Cup held in South Africa last year.
