Victory may have been something of an inevitability for Worcestershire after Graeme Hick's triple-century on Thursday, but it came a little earlier than expected after another poor batting display by Durham on the third day of the County Championship Second Division game at New Road.
If Hick set up victory with his record 315 his bowlers finished the job yesterday by knocking Durham over in a session and a half. Kabir Ali shone brightest with 4 for 77 as Durham, still winless after seven Championship matches, were bowled out for 215 in their second innings.
Worcestershire claimed the maximum 20 points to move up to third place and again have realistic promotion ambitions.
