England's cricketers practice at Edgbaston ahead of Thursday's World Cup semi-final against Australia

Martin Guptill‘s stunning throw to run out MS Dhoni helped settle a stunning Cricket World Cup semi-final as New Zealand beat India by 18 runs.

The Black Caps returned today, after rain denied a conclusion to yesterday’s match, up against it defending just 239 against their high-powered opponents.

But Trent Boult and Matt Henry shone with the ball up front to leave India reeling at 5-3 and 24-4, dismissing KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for one run apiece.

But after Ravindra Jadeja and Dhoni rebuilt, India could sense victory until Guptill’s swift work in the field.

Here are the ratings from Old Trafford.
