Yawar Saeed has resigned as Pakistan team manager, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced yesterday. His decision comes as no surprise after he oversaw a turbulent tour of England which saw his team beaten in the Test, one-day international and Twenty20 series.

But the on-field action was overshadowed by accusations of spot-fixing involving Test captain Salman Butt and fast bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer. A statement from the PCB today read: "Mr Yawar Saeed has requested to be relieved of his duties as manager of the national team. The chairman has agreed to this request."
