Pakistan team to arrive in UK this week ahead of summer fixtures against England

Schedule for Test and T20 fixtures will be unveiled soon, according to ECB

Coronavirus: How has sport been affected?

Pakistan’s men’s cricket team will arrive in the UK this Sunday to begin preparations for their summer tour of England, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed.

Pakistan are due to play three Test matches and three T20 fixtures against England, with each clash taking place behind closed doors.

A statement released by the ECB on Friday said the schedule for the matches would be announced “in due course”.

“[Pakistan] will start a 14-day isolation period at Blackfinch New Road, Worcester before transferring to Derbyshire’s The Incora County Ground on Monday 13 July to accelerate their preparation ahead of the first Test, which will include two four-day internal warm-up matches,” the statement read.

“All members of the tour party will have been tested prior to travel.

“Those who are testing positive for Covid-19 will not be permitted to travel with the advance group on Sunday.”

Before taking on Pakistan, England will face the West Indies in a three-Test series that begins on 8 July.
