Sachin Tendulkar tweets British Airways to complain about service, Indian cricket fans hilariously vent anger at airline
Tendulkar complained about BA's service, but when they asked for his full name and address they were not prepared for the backlash that followed
Indian cricket fans are livid with British Airways after they replied to a critical Twitter message from national hero Sachin Tendulkar and asked who he was.
42-year-old Tendulkar sent two messages to BA’s Twitter account to say he was “angry, disappointed and frustrated” with their service after they failed to confirm one of his family member’s ticket and nearly sent his luggage to the wrong destination.
Tendulkar also accused BA staff of having a “don’t care attitude”, but the worst was yet to come for the airline heavyweight.
Tendulkar’s two messages read: “Angry Disappointed and Frustrated.. #BAdserviceBA Family member’s Waitlisted ticket not confirmed despite seats being available.
“And luggage being tagged by @British_Airways to wrong desitnation and don’t care attitude! #NeveronBA”.
BA’s social media team tried to resolve the issue by responding to Tendulkar, but a genuine question to find out Tendulkar’s full name and address did not go down well with the millions who hold him to a God-like status in India.
“@sachin_rt We’re sorry to hear this Sachin, could you please DM us your baggage ref, full name and address so we can look into this for you?” the response from BA read.
Cue pandemonium among his fans, who didn’t hold back in taking the fight to BA.
However, British Airways issued an apology to Tendulkar on Friday, as a BA representative said: "We have apologised to our customer for the inconvenience, and are working to resolve the issue."
