Udal ready to benefit from Yorkshire's travel sickness

Hampshire have had five days to prepare for their Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy semi-final at the Rose Bowl today. Yorkshire had to travel from Manchester last night.

"Our preparation has been perfect," said Hampshire's captain Shaun Udal. "We will be raring to go against Yorkshire - but I do feel for them. They will probably not get to bed until 1am so the fixture list has favoured us."

Hampshire have not reached a Lord's final since beating Kent to win the Benson & Hedges Cup in 1992. "If we perform to our maximum, and everyone does so in this game, there is no reason why we cannot go all the way," said Udal.

Hampshire will be without Kevin Pietersen but Chris Tremlett, England's 12th man, plays. Yorkshire are without England captain Michael Vaughan and Matthew Hoggard.

Warwickshire's captain Nick Knight also has home advantage. "Lancashire are a more experienced team but we are confident of putting on a good show," he said of his side's semi-final. Knight will not have the services of Ashley Giles and Ian Bell, while Lancashire are missing Andrew Flintoff.

The final is at Lord's on 3September.
