Chris Boardman lost the lead in the Dauphine Libere race for the second time when he trailed in 6min 48sec behind the Frenchman Pascal Herve in the 174km fifth stage to Collet D'Allevard. Boardman won the prologue, held the lead for a day, lost it on Wednesday but regained it on Thursday. The Swiss Laurent Dufaux now leads.
