Cycling: Moser misses the mark
Franceso Moser failed to beat Chris Boardman's one-hour record in Mexico City but he had the consolaton of bettering the distance covered by Graeme Obree in initially depriving him of the mark. The Italian, who came out of retirement at 42 to pursue the record, covered 51.840km, according to unofficial figures, a shortfall of 430m on Boardman's effort last July when he beat Obree's 51.596km.
