Denmark achieved a record sixth European team crown on home ground in Herning last night, despite a defeat for their All-England champion, Poul- Erik Hoyer-Larsen. The world No 2 lost 15-9, 15-13 to Sweden's Jens Olsson but the Danes edged home 3-2. England beat Russia 5-0 in the match to decide third place.
