Derby Storm piled on the agony for Budweiser League champions Sheffield Sharks last night with a 75-63 win at Ponds Forge, which allowed London Towers and Manchester Giants to open a two-point lead at the top of the table, writes Duncan Hooper.

Sheffield's fourth successive loss left them sharing third place with Derby.

London Towers scored 13 consecutive points either side of half-time to take a match-winning 55-38 lead on their way to beating Doncaster Panthers 91-75.

Dave Gardner began repaying his "secret" transfer to Manchester Giants, when his lay-up 16 seconds from time secured a 93-90 win over Thames Valley Tigers.
