Desmond Haynes will not be selected by the West Indies for their forthcoming Test and one-day home series against Australia. The West Indies Cricket Board of Control insists players must take part in five Red Stripe Cup first-class games to be eligible for selection, but Haynes only played in four. The Middlesex opener pleaded in vain for special dispensation.
