Just days after the Philadelphia Eagles won their first ever franchise Super Bowl, the injured starting quarterback for the team has some special news to share with his fans about rings.

Carson Wentz posted a series of photos with his girlfriend Madison Oberg shortly after the win in Minneapolis, showing him on a knee and all smiles with Ms Oberg.

“She said YES! And now Maddie and I both got us a ring,” Wentz wrote in the post, with a ring and sunglasses emoji added, “can’t wait to marry my best friend! God is doing some amazing things and I can’t thank him enough!”

While Wentz wasn’t able to suit up during Sunday’s Super Bowl due to a leg injury sustained late in the regular season, he was able to enjoy a win on football’s largest stage after his teammates — including backup quarterback Nick Foles — stepped up to play three impressive games in the post season.

He is expected back as a starter for the Eagles next season, when he will have the opportunity to recreate the regular season run that secured the team as the top seed in their division.

The couple announced their relationship publicly in November.

The proposal photos are not the first time that the couple have posted a message of unity online.

Shortly after Wentz tore his ACL last year, he posted a photo of him in a hospital gown alongside Ms Oberg giving a thumbs up.

“Surgery [checkmark emoji] the comeback officially begins now! The Lord truly blessed me with this beautiful young lady to walk by my side and support me through all of this!” he wrote next to the photo.

Wentz’s injury cast a shadow over the Eagle’s playoff prospects, and led to the team being ranked as the first top seed team to play at home as underdogs in league history. The team was able to surprise the nation with dominant play that led them to a win over the reigning Super Bowl champions the New England Patriots Sunday.
