The Humane Society of the United States has urged Olympic officials to cancel the three-day event scheduled for Atlanta's 1996 Olympic Games, or move the competition to a cooler climate. Competing in the heat and humidity typical of Atlanta summers, it claims, will put the horses at risk of death.
