Equestrianism: Hester top of every class
CARL HESTER completed a clean sweep of the Dressage Selection Trials here when he won yesterday's Grand Prix on Giorgione, writes Genevieve Murphy from Addington Manor.
Hester had earlier won the Intermediaire II on Giorgione, who is owned by Dr and Mrs Wilfried Bechtolsheimer. He had also won the Prix St Georges and Intermediare I on his exciting new mount Limmat, with whom he is unbeaten in five competitions.
'That's another little ambition out of the way,' Hester said after winning every class at the three-day meeting. His principal goal this year is to achieve a score in the 1600s in an international Grand Prix. With Giorgione's basic work improved his target is not impossible.
DRESSAGE SELECTION TRIALS (Addington Manor) Grand Prix: 1 Giorgione (C Hester) 921pts; 2 Virtu (E Faurie) 905; 3 Vashkar (C Parsons) 883; 4 Arun Tor (F Eilberg) 873; 5 Tapster (F Eilberg) 869; 6 Freja (S Dwyer) 862.
