Manchester United's manager Alex Ferguson has reacted with anger to David Beckham's booking after being spat at by Savo Milosevic during Wednesday's 0-0 draw against Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

Beckham lost his temper after the incident and both players were booked. He is now one caution away from a ban. Ferguson claimed the midfielder's reaction was understandable, and hoped the referee, David Elleray, would study a video recording before filing his report on the match. Television cameras caught Milosevic in the act of spitting at Beckham after a late tackle.
