Missed Flight and George Duffield led home a British 1-2-3 in the Group Three, pounds 26,347 Prix de Meautry at Deauville yesterday. The Chris Wall-trained five-year-old was heavily backed in to 2.2-1 favouritism after heavy watering of the track had changed the ground to good to soft for the six-furlong event.
Missed Flight barely gave his supporters a moment's worry, quickening up well to beat Barry Hills's representative, Warning Star, by a length and a half with the James Bethell-trained front-running Alzianah back in third. Ken Cunningham-Brown's Bold Effort trailed home in ninth place.
