Terry Fenwick, the new Portsmouth manager, yesterday sacked his assistant manager Graham Paddon, reserve team manager Mike Bailey and chief scout John Sillett. Fenwick, 35, was the surprise replacement last Friday for Jim Smith.

Nottingham Forest's former ticket manager, Andrew Plumb, has been charged with stealing from the club. Charges of theft and false accounting followed an 18-month investigation by the Fraud Squad. It began after claims by Mr Plumb that the former manager,Brian Clough, had been involved in the sale of League Cup final tickets on the black market three years ago.
