Duncan Shearer, the former Blackburn and Scotland striker, has joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle after being released by Aberdeen.

Colchester United have recruited the goalkeeper Paul Newell for a second spell at Layer Road. He had been playing non-League football for Sittingbourne after being released by Darlington.
