Darlington are confident they can clear an pounds 86,000 tax debt after being issued with a winding-up order by the Inland Revenue. The Third Division club are expected to announce a pounds 118,000 trading profit at next week's annual meeting, and two syndicates are interested in buying the Quakers by meeting the club's pounds 500,000 asking price.

Kidderminster Harriers, the GM Vauxhall Conference leaders, will face the holders Macclesfield Town in the first round of the FA Umbro Trophy on 18 January.
