CELTIC CONTINUED their pursuit of Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premier League with by crushing Aberdeen 6-0.
Celtic expected a tough game at Pittodrie, where Aberdeen had recorded two successive wins, including a League Cup defeat of Rangers. Instead, goals by Paul Lambert, Stephane Mahe, Lubomir Moravcik, Mark Viduka and substitutes Regi Blinker and Ian Wright, helped John Barnes's team condemn the Dons to their worst ever home defeat.
"It was a great performance and it was nice to have six different scorers," Barnes said. Celtic are now 18-0 ahead on aggregate after three meetings with the Dons this season.
