England's youngsters were brought down to earth by Angola in the Toulon tournament last night, suffering the worst possible start when they conceded a goal after only four minutes.

Sidonio Malamba was brought down in the penalty box by QPR's Chris Plummer. Caesar Muhonga sent the Norwich goalkeeper Andy Marshall the wrong way to convert the spot-kick.

England's best efforts were from Manchester City's Michael Brown, while United's David Beckham hit the post. In the 63rd minute, a through-ball was played into the English defence and as Charlton's Jamie Stuart hesitated he was dispossessed by Valdo Costa, whose shot went under Marshall.
