FOOTBALL: DEIN CALLS FOR MORE ROBUST CONTROL ON PLAYERS' AGENTS

l Arsenal's vice-chairman, David Dein, has called for Uefa and Fifa to bring in worldwide regulations to control players' agents. Dein called for the measures in a presentation to Uefa's European club forum in Nyon, Switzerland, yesterday. Dein said: "It was agreed that a working party be set up to look at the rules governing agents and to make them more robust on a global scale."

l Tottenham are to take part in an eight-team tournament in South Korea in July. Lyon, PSV Eindhoven and Argentina's Boca Juniors have also entered.

l Lee Hendrie has signed a two-year contract extension to keep him at Aston Villa until June 2007.

l Hearts formally withdrew yesterday from a pounds 20m deal to sell their Tynecastle Stadium to a house-building firm.
