Bradford City eased themselves through to the fourth round of the FA Cup as Chris Waddle and John Dreyer combined to beat the Second Division strugglers Wycombe Wanderers.

The goals came completely against the run of play as Wycombe failed to convert their early domination, squandering easy chances in front of goal.

Miguel Desouza was the first of Wanderers' guilty parties as he failed to get hold of Micky Bell's excellent cross only a yard from goal. A minute later it was goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer who was the hero as Michael Forsythe's header looked goal-bound, but Schwarzer dived quickly to his left to save the ball on the line.

In the 25th minute Bradford broke the deadlock, with the two goals eventually proving to be identical, even down to the poor clearances by Wycombe - both of which found Dreyer. As Waddle floated a cross in, Wycombe were unconvincing in defence and the ball ended up on the left-hand edge of the area for Dreyer to lash the ball into the roof of the net.

Ten minutes later the players were back in familiar territory as they repeated the first goal.

For the second time Wycombe failed to clear their lines and Dreyer could not believe his luck as he found himself in space to place the ball comfortably in the bottom right-hand corner.

Wycombe battled hard throughout the second half in a bid to find an opening, but Bradford were a class above as they defended stoutly and always looked threatening on the attack, ever ready to add to their tally.
