Gordon Durie, the Tottenham Hotspur striker, is confident he will be cleared by the Football Association today of being a cheat. Durie will use video evidence in an attempt to convince an FA disciplinary commission that he was not guilty of feigning injury during a Premier League match against Coventry at White Hart Lane on 18 August.

He will be represented by Gordon Taylor, the chief executive of the Professional Footballers' Association. 'This is a very serious charge but having spoken to Gordon and several witnesses we hope his name will be cleared after the commission has seen the video,' Taylor said.

West Ham have cut ticket prices by up to 25 per cent. The managing director, Peter Storrie, said the club were 'responding to criticism from our supporters on admission prices, bearing in mind the effect of the present recession and level of unemployment in the area'.

Blackburn Rovers have unveiled plans for a pounds 12m facelift of Ewood Park - only six months after their first application was given the go- ahead by the local authority.
