Football: Hartlepool wound up
Hartlepool United were wound up in the London Companies Court yesterday with debts of more than pounds 260,000 to the Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise. Yet they believe they can survive with help from Paul Gascoigne's agent, the lawyer Mel Stein. Stein is making an application for the order to be overturned in the High Court tomorrow, allowing the FA Cup fourth-round game at Sheffield United to go ahead on Saturday.
