Football: Jaw operation for Johnston

Maurice Johnston, the Everton striker, will have an operation today on a broken jaw which could sideline him for a month. Johnston sustained the injury at home over Christmas. His manager, Howard Kendall, said: 'I understand the explanation he has given to me and what happened to him.'
