Football: Leeds wary of Moscow

LEEDS UNITED face Lokomotiv Moscow tonight in the second leg of their Uefa Cup second-round match, seemingly on the brink of a place in the last 32 following their 4-1 victory at Elland Road two weeks ago.

David O'Leary's side are keen to protect their 12-match unbeaten run in Moscow against a team who were semi-finalists in the last two years of the Cup-Winners' Cup. Leeds, however, destroyed Lokomotiv with their attacking football last time and know an early goal could kill the game. O'Leary will be determined to rid his side of any complacency, although Jonathon Woodgate, their central defender, is fully aware the tie is far from over.

"Keeping a clean sheet against West Ham was a really big bonus for us after conceding four the week before at Everton," he admitted. "It's given us a lot of confidence, particularly when you are playing behind a forward line who don't look like losing form at the moment. The 4-1 lead is great for us, but in football there is every possibility they [Lokomotiv] could come back.

"They showed just what a good side they are in that first leg because Nigel [Martyn] had to make some great saves."

O'Leary may play Michael Duberry in a three-man central defence as he is now fully fit.
