Tommy Burns today welcomes back the player Celtic fans labelled "the maestro" more than a decade ago. Paul McStay, the club captain, return from injury after four months out at Parkhead against Dunfermline.
"What Paul gives us in midfield is composure and he has had it since he was 16 or 17," the Celtic manager said. "You certainly notice his absence when he is out."
McStay is likely to replace Peter Grant, who injured an ankle in the 2-1 Boxing Day win over Aberdeen. Paolo Di Canio's golden boots, in which he scored the winner, will be auctioned today for charity.
David Hannah, the Dundee United midfielder, has joined Celtic for pounds 650,000 and is in the squad to face Dunfermline.
Kilmarnock's new manager, Bobby Williamson, has steered them to three wins in five games since Alex Totten was sacked, with Boxing Day's 1-0 victory at Hibernian marking the confirmation of his appointment until the end of the season.
Today Kilmarnock host Rangers, who are likely to leave out Alan McLaren because the defender has played three games in 10 days in his first appearances since May.
Jocky Scott takes Hibernian to his former club, Aberdeen, with his job as caretaker manager under pressure after presiding over just three wins in 13 games. Aberdeen are also desperate for a return to form after taking only one point from their last three games.
