After a career repeatedly stalled by injury, the former Manchester City and Leeds forward - who won an England cap under Graham Taylor - has had to endure another miserable season. After battling throughout the 1996-97 campaign with a niggling groin problem, White suffered ankle damage in a Coca-Cola Cup tie against Wrexham last August and has not been seen since. Hopes of a comeback after Christmas following surgery came to nothing.
