FROM today the major pools companies - Littlewoods, Vernons and Zetters - are changing their points system, putting the major emphasis on 1-1 'jackpot' draws. These will earn three points, which means eight 1-1 draws are needed to glean 24 points. Other score draws earn 2 1/2 points, scoreless draws two points, and both home and away wins are rated at 1 1/2 points.

The companies believe this change will generate more jackpot wins.
