Football: O'Sullivan to stay after float at St Andrew's

Birmingham's joint owners, David Sullivan and Ralph and David Gold, will remain in charge of the First Division club when it goes public on the stock exchange next week.

They could make a handsome profit by cashing in their 84 per cent shareholding in City, but Sullivan has assured supporters that he and the Gold brothers will be staying in control. "We have pledged in the flotation brochure that we will not be selling our shares for three years and that all loans to the club by us will continue to be interest free," he said.

Jan Molby yesterday denied he had resigned as the player-manager of the Third Division club Swansea. The Dane had a meeting with the club chairman, Doug Sharpe, before yesterday's 2-1 home defeat by Scarborough, but said he thought some had "read too much into that."
