REAL MADRID, who sacked their coach, Benito Floro, on Monday, will have a replacement within a few weeks so that he can be involved in reshaping the team for next season, the club chairman, Ramon Mendoza, said yesterday. Vicente del Bosque, a former player and a long-time member of the club's technical staff, has been named as caretaker-coach.

'We have got to strengthen the squad and the ideal thing would be that the new coach should handle the signings,' Mendoza said.
