THE former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton, was sent off after 26 minutes of Plymouth Argyle's 2-0 Second Division defeat at Hull City last night for a professional foul on Graeme Atkinson in the penalty area. Shilton is now the player-manager of Argyle and gaining a reputation as a strict disciplinarian: it will be interesting to see how he deals with himself.

Nicky Marker went in goal and saved the resulting penalty from Leigh Jenkinson, but could not prevent two late goals by David Hockaday and Gary Lund.
