Boris Ignatiev, Russia's coach, has offered his resignation to the Russian football association who will consider it when the World Cup has finished.
Derby have appointed Eric McManus, the former Notts County and Coventry goalkeeper, as the director of recruitment for the club's youth academy. McManus moves to Pride Park after spending more than nine years in a youth team role with Second Division Walsall.
Reading have moved their home Second Division fixture with York from Bank Holiday Monday, 31 August, to Wednesday 2 September, because it clashed with Reading Rock festival.
Jose Antonio Camacho, the former Real Madrid player, returned to the club as coach yesterday. Camacho takes over from Jupp Heynckes, who was fired on 28 May despite winning the European Cup.
