Football: Supporters urge mass walk-out at Brighton

Brighton's Independent Supporters' Association are urging fans to stage a mass walk-out during tomorrow's home match against Hereford.

The group want Seagulls supporters to desert the game 15 minutes from time and protest behind the main stand.

John Baine, a founder member of BISA, explained: "Fifteen minutes of football is a small sacrifice. It's up to all Brighton fans to heap the pressure on and squeeze the board into submission."

Brighton, with no new home to go to after this season, have been charged by the Football Association with failure to control their crowd following the pitch invasion against Lincoln on 1 October.

They are already facing a suspended FA sentence of playing a match behind closed doors and losing three points after their end-of-season game against York was abandoned because of crowd problems.

The manager, Jimmy Case, is appealing for supporters to get behind the team, who are bottom of the Third Division.

"I can understand the fans' frustration and they deserve better," Case said. "But I know that some of our players who have been affected by recent actions will really respond if we had a return of the Goldstone roar."

Clubs from the Republic of Ireland's Harp National League have again unanimously reaffirmed their opposition to any proposal for a move by Wimbledon to Dublin. Twenty clubs voted against any such proposal in Dublin on Saturday.
