Football: `We're in touch but it is an uphill battle'

WE DID have the better chances before England scored. We also thought we were unlucky to be 2-0 down at half-time. England won't agree but I think if we can go to Wembley and get an early goal, we are in the match. We are in touch, but it is an uphill battle. If there is any complacency in the England set-up we can capitalise on it. I think our alternatives up front at Wembley might give us the edge and might surprise England.

IF YOU had sat down and you wanted to make a film of how it would go, then this would have been it. We could have added a third, but I suppose that's being a bit too greedy. But it's not all over. They've got to score three goals at Wembley to beat us, which is very tough. WE WORKED tirelessly but didn't get the rub of the green in the box. On the first goal Scholes had `gone'. I got caught flat-footed. He did that against Poland - he's very good at it. It will have to be a ridiculously impressive performance by us at Wembley.

WE'RE VERY pleased with our performance, particularly in the first half when the damage was done. We've done a helluva job in what was a tough atmosphere. But it's only half-time because we've done one job and we've still got a second to do. We will attack on Wednesday night. We are not made to go for a draw.
