Football: Weekend guide to the Premiership
Newcastle United v Derby County Last season:
RUUD GULLIT, the Newcastle manager, is facing a selection problem. Not, as may be expected, who to sell, but - as all the Dutchman's international players returned from Euro 2000 duty in mid-week with a clean bill of health - who to pick. The French striker Stephane Guivarc'h, the defender Steve Howey and the German international Dietmar Hamann are struggling and unlikely to be included, while Andreas Andersson (glandular fever) is not yet back to full fitness.
Derby - who 58 years ago this weekend won 5-2 at Newcastle - could recall their striker Dean Sturridge. Sturridge was relegated to the substitutes' bench for the home game against Spurs but Derby failed to score for the second game running. Now he could be back along with captain Igor Stimac, who missed the last two Premiership games with a hamstring injury.
