It’s a big game for…

ANDROS TOWNSEND: The England winger could start for Spurs tonight and he needs to grab the opportunity with both hands should he be selected. The last time he played 90 minutes for his club was back in January in the FA Cup and he played just three minutes in Spurs’ last match, the 0-0 draw with Liverpool.

Best stat…

1 in 191: In 191 European matches in which Spurs have played their opponents home and away (both group and knockout stages), they have only lost both fixtures once. That was in the 2010/11 Champions League when they were beaten 1-0 by Real Madrid at White Hart Lane and 4-0 at the Bernabeu.

Remember when…

Spurs beat Belgians Anderlecht in the UEFA Cup final of 1984. Goalkeeper Tony Parks was the hero in the second leg at White Hart Lane as, with the scores level at 2-2 on aggregate, Parks saved two penalties in the shootout to give Spurs victory.

Player to watch…

STEFANO OKAKA: Italian striker Okaka is in great form for Anderlecht, with four goals in his last four matches. The 26-year-old signed from Sampdoria in the summer and despite unsuccessful spells at most of his former clubs – Fulham were one – has hit the ground running in Belgium.

Past three-meetings…

Anderlecht 1 (Goor) Tottenham Hotspur 1 (Berbatov), UEFA Cup, December 2007

Tottenham Hotspur 1 (Roberts) Anderlecht 1 (Czerniatynski) (Tottenham won 4-3 on penalties), UEFA Cup, May 1984

Anderlecht 1 (Olsen) Tottenham Hotspur 1 (Miller), UEFA Cup, May 1984

Form guide…

ANDERLECHT: DWWLDW

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR: WLWDDD

Vital information…
