Anders Frisk, who refereed Chelsea's defeat in Barcelona on Wednesday, has often been derided for his style, although descriptions such as "prancing" and "Limahl lookalike", and references to his highlights and fondness for the limelight suggest the Swede's manner rather than refereeing are the source of the ire. Frisk booked five Valencia players and sent off a sixth as Claudio Ranieri's side was eliminated. "When you see the referee give them more than you, you feel as though you are being shafted," Ranieri said. He later apologised, saying: "I was in a very agitated state."
