Ashley Cole is struggling to fit in at Roma and could make a swift exit from the Serie A club, according to reports in Italy.

The former England international only joined Roma over the summer and the season is only one game old, however there are suggestions Cole is struggling in the Italian capital.

During pre-season a picture of the former Chelsea player standing alone during a team photo-shoot went viral. As well as jokers on the internet, the Roma legend Francesco Totti was among those to mock Cole over the photo.

Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica report that the left-back, who started in the opening day 2-0 win over Fiorentina, is now ready to quit the club.

A wealth of opportunities would be forthcoming from the MLS if Cole were to take such a decision, despite having snubbed numerous American teams in order to join Roma. Orlando City and Toronto FC are among those to have been linked with the defender.
