Manchester City and Liverpool will discover their fate in the draw for this year's Champions League quarter-finals on Friday.

The pair are the Premier League's only remaining representatives in the competition after Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were eliminated in the last-16.

Pep Guardiola's City overcame Swiss champions Basel 5-2 on aggregate, establishing a 4-0 lead in the away leg before losing 2-1 at home.

Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool all but guaranteed their progression with a dominant 5-0 victory at Porto, with the return leg ending in a goalless draw.

Either could draw United's conquerors Sevilla or meet a member of European football's elite, such as Juventus, Barcelona or holders Real Madrid.

When is the draw?

The draw will take place on Friday 16 March at 11.00am GMT in Nyon, Switzerland.

Where can I watch it?

The draw will be shown live on Uefa's website and televised on BT Sport 3.

Alternatively, you can follow The Independent's live blog for coverage.

How does it work?

The draw is unseeded and there will be no ‘country protection’, meaning teams from the same domestic league can be drawn against each other.

The team drawn first in each tie will play the first leg at home, with those drawn second starting away.

Who has qualified?

  • Real Madrid
  • Liverpool
  • Juventus
  • Manchester City
  • Sevilla
  • Roma
  • Bayern Munich
  • Barcelona

When will the quarter finals take place?

The first legs of the quarter finals will be played across 3 and 4 April, with the second legs following on 10 and 11 April.
