Celtic have been drawn against Greek side AEK Athens should they progress to the third qualifying round of the Champions League.

The Scottish champions face Norwegian club Rosenborg in the second qualifying round, with the first leg on Wednesday.

Brendan Rodgers' side coasted past Armenian outfit Alashkert 6-0 on aggregate in their first qualifier, as they look to progress through to the lucrative Champions League group stages.

Should Celtic see off Rosenborg and move into the third round of qualifying, the matches will take place on August 7/8, with the first leg provisionally set for Glasgow, and the second leg to be played on August 14.

Elsewhere in Monday's draw, Salzburg entered the 'Champions path' and were paired with the winners of the second qualifying round tie between Macedonian side Shkendija and Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova.

The 'League path' saw six new teams coming into the competition.

Benfica were drawn against Fenerbahce, while Standard Liege face the winners of Ajax and Sturm Graz, Dymano Kiev will tackle Slavia Prague and Spartak Moscow meet either PAOK or Basel.

Celtic, who progressed through qualifying to reach the group stages of the Champions League last season, would not see their European hopes ended with defeat against Rosenborg. The Scottish club would then drop into the qualifying campaign for the Europa League.

Monday's draw for the third-qualifying round of the second-tier competition later handed League of Ireland Premier Division side Cork City a tie against the loser of Celtic versus Rosenborg.

English Premier League club Burnley, who finished seventh last season, are set to play Scottish side Aberdeen in the second qualifying round.

Following Monday's draw in Nyon, the winners of that tie will go on to meet Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir in the third qualifying round. Those games will be played on August 9 and 16, with the English or Scottish team away in leg first.

Scottish club Rangers will play Osijek of Croatia in the second qualifying round. Should Steven Gerrard's side progress, they would meet the winners of Chikhura Sachkhere against Maribor.

Hibernian face Greek team Asteras Tripolis in round two. Should the Scottish side come through, they would meet either Molde or Albanian team Lac.
