Champions League round-up: Borussia Dortmund win adds to Roberto Mancini's problems at Manchester City

Poland striker Robert Lewandowski grabbed a 87th-minute winner for Borussia Dortmund against Ajax last night to dent Manchester City's hopes of qualifying from Group D.

Roberto Mancini's side host Dortmund on 3 October know that the Germans champions' 1-0 win puts them in the box seat. Dortmund's main threat will undoubtedly be Lewandowski, who was linked with moves to Chelsea and Manchester United in the summer after scoring 22 Bundesliga goals last season.

Schalke ensured it was a good night for German sides as they joined Arsenal on three points in Group B with a 2-1 win at Olympiakos.

Huub Stevens's side, who are unbeaten so far this season, took the lead through Benedikt Howedes' first-half header.

Olympiakos, whose next European assignment will be at Arsenal on 3 October, levelled after the break through Djamel Abdoun. The goal ended a run of four successive Champions League opening fixtures without scoring for the Greek side but the joy was short lived as Netherlands striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar restored the visitors' lead just a minute later. Zlatan Ibrahimovic became the first man to score for six different clubs in the Champions League as Paris Saint-Germain strolled to a 4-1 win over Dynamo Kiev.

The former Ajax, Juventus, Internazionale, Barcelona and Milan forward, who has never won the competition, opened the scoring from the spot before fellow summer signing Thiago Silva doubled the lead. The former Chelsea defender Alex then added a third before half time. The Ukrainians pulled back a goal through Miguel Veloso but Javier Pastore added a fourth for PSG to ensure Carlo Ancelotti's side a perfect start in Group A.
